“Paradise Frost: Milton’s Frozen History” set to open January 13

 Exhibit runs January 13-May 29

The Milton Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit “Paradise Frost: Milton’s Frozen History.”  The exhibit explores a number of topics related to the theme of frozen–including the ice harvesting industry of the early twentieth century, led by notable Miltonian James “Handy” Prettyman and ice cream manufacturing.  Artifacts span the 18th through 20th centuries.

The exhibit grand opening will take place on Friday, January 13 from 4-6 pm.  Guests are invited to view the artifacts on display, as well as the restructured sanctuary of the museum.  As an additional treat, King’s Ice Cream will be on hand with free ice cream for visitors.

The exhibit and opening event are free. The Milton Historical Society is located at 210 Union Street in downtown Milton. For more information please call 302-684-1010 or visit www.historicmilton.org.   For those unable to attend on January 13, the exhibit will remain on display through May 29th.
