Milton Historical Society Presents a Workshop on the Architectural Styles of Milton
The Town of Milton boasts 198 properties on the National Register of Historic Places including150 homes that demonstrate a wide range of styles from very modest to magnificent. A free workshop on Saturday, November 7,
2015 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm provides an opportunity to learn about the various building styles and architectural features that are evident in
Milton’s unique historic area. Earliest examples of architecture date
back to the 1700’s with the oldest remaining home dating to circa 1730!
The growth of the town located at the head of the Broadkill River has been sporadic over its 200+ years of existence and its architecture provides
evidence of Milton’s history and economic ups and downs. Meandering the
streets of Milton becomes an adventure after attending this enriching and informative workshop featuring the prominent architectural styles that were popular from the 1700’s through the 1800’s and into the 1900’s.
The Architectural Styles of Milton Workshop begins at 11:00 am on November 7 at the Milton Historical Society Museum located at 210 Union
Street in downtown Milton. Space is limited and reservations are
required by October 31. For further information or to reserve a place, call 302-684-1010 or send an email to visit@historicmilton.com. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am to 4pm.
