King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef Cook-off on September 9

The Milton Historical Society’s 2017 King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef Cook-Off takes place on Saturday, September 9 from 5:00–8:00 pm at the Milton Fire Hall.  This year chefs will prepare culinary creations featuring vegetables and fruits that would have been canned at the former King Cole Cannery located in Milton.  Participating chefs are from restaurants located in Milton, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and Milford.  Guests at this event will enjoy sampling the creations of our celebrity chefs and then vote to determine the winner.  For some added spice, the evening will include music, the King Cole Celebrity Raffle and a cash bar.  Tickets are $45 for non-members and at the door.  MHS members pay $35 for tickets purchased before September 8. Don’t wait!  Tickets are limited to the first 200 paid tickets.

A highlight of this event is the chance to win one of the King Cole Celebrity Raffle Baskets!  Raffle Baskets are themed and offer items to capture a variety of tastes and interests.  A sampling includes baskets filled with products and goods from Lavender Fields Farm, 302 Fitness and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. All baskets are valued at over $150.  Raffle tickets cost $10 each, 5 for $40 or 6 for $50 and may be purchased in advance or at the event.  Winners do not need to be present to win but must be available to pick up their prize from the Milton Historical Society by September 29.

Don’t miss this enjoyable evening and the opportunity to help select the 2017 King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef.  All proceeds go to support the Milton Historical Society’s programs, walking tours, lectures, new exhibits and a wide variety of educational programs for local children.  For further information and to purchase tickets, please contact the Milton Historical Society and Lydia B. Cannon Museum at info@historicmilton.com or 302-684-1010.
