Project updates: Throughout the month of November, Artesian will be working on Tilney Street to complete wastewater infrastructure installation; a portion of Tilney Street will be closed to through traffic. Weather permitting, the Towns Chestnut Street rehabilitation project continues into the beginning of November; we ask that there be no parking on Chestnut Street, from Coulter Street to New Street. TOWN OF MILTON

2019 Annual Municipal Election

 

The 2019 Annual Municipal Election candidate filing deadline was Wednesday, January 2, at 5:00 p.m.  This year’s Election was open for Mayor and two Town Council seats.  One citizen declared candidacy for Mayor: Theodore Kanakos.  Two citizens declared their candidacy for Town Council: Michael Cote and James Garde.

 

In accordance with Town Charter Section 7(l), which reads “In the event that only one person files for an office for which an election is to be held within the time set forth in Section 6 of this Charter, the person who files shall be deemed to be elected for a full term and it shall not be necessary to have an election”, there will not be an Annual Election.

 

Incumbent Mayor Ted Kanakos, and incumbent Councilmen Michael Cote and James Garde are deemed elected.

 

Swearing-in will take place at the April 1, 2019 Town Council meeting, which will be held at the Milton Library beginning at 6:30 p.m.
