Architecture of Milton Walking Tours

Milton, DE – Milton enjoys a rich heritage of historic homes and buildings, with 198 structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The Milton Historical Society’s Architectural Walking Tour offers a lively overview of Milton’s history and a chance to view and learn about many of the architectural styles preserved in the homes, button sheds, barns and outbuildings in the historic area.  Learning about the stylistic differences unlocks insights into the cultural and artistic traditions that have influence and shaped this charming town.  This stroll through Milton is a fascinating way to appreciate the town’s long history and the people who influenced the development of the community.

Walking tours are scheduled for May 13, June 3, July 22, August 26 and September 9, weather permitting.  Tours begin at 9:30 am at the Milton Historical Society, located at 210 Union Street in downtown Milton.  Free parking is available in the open space next to the museum along Magnolia Street.  Please wear sturdy shoes, bring a hat, sunscreen and water.  Program is free to members, $5 (cash or check) for non-members.
