So far, we have received approximately 215 responses. The survey will be available until Friday, October 19th. Please take a couple seconds to complete the survey on your interest in natural gas. This survey is not a binding commitment, but rather determining interest should natural gas be available. Date Posted: Monday, May 7th, 20182018 Water System Improvements and Information Sessions for Referendum In 2015, the Town of Milton received a Drinking Water Planning Grant to map and model the water system, and develop a report of water system improvements to increase resilience, fire flow, and the ability to operate during and after a large storm event. After completion of the mapping and modeling of the water system, scenarios were conducted in the water model. The following water system improvements were the results and recommendations of the water system model: Install the Wagamons water main extension Install a new well and treatment facility Build a new storage facility Replace failing water mains, along Atlantic Avenue / Bay Avenue Chestnut Street Route 16, Atlantic Street, and Orchard / Union Streets Improve low flow hydrants With much consideration of the Drinking Water Planning Grant report and recommendations, all projects were submitted to Delaware Department of Natural […]

(Thu., Nov. 30, 2017): Storms come and go from one season to the next, but the need to have a preparedness plan is a constant whatever the weather. The Sussex County Emergency Operations Center reminds the public that preparation is a must before any season, whether it’s ahead of hurricane season that ends in November or the nor’easter season that runs from now until to March. Residents and property owners are encouraged to check supplies, monitor weather conditions, and take appropriate action if directed this winter season. “The seasons are changing, but the message remains the same – always have a plan, and always be prepared for Mother Nature no matter the time of year,” Sussex County EOC Director Joseph L. Date Posted: Wednesday, January 10th, 2018For immediate release: January 10, 2018 TOWN OF MILTON 2018 Annual Municipal Election The 2018 Annual Municipal Election candidate filing deadline was Tuesday, January 2, at 5:00 p.m. This year’s Election was open for two council seats. Two citizens declared their candidacy for the 2018 Election: incumbent Councilmen Charles Fleetwood and G. Kevin Kelly. Since the number of qualified candidates equals the number of seats open for election, there will not be an Annual Election. In accordance with the Town Charter, Mr. Charles Fleetwood and Mr. G. Kevin Kelly are deemed elected. Mr. Charles Fleetwood and Mr. G. Kevin Kelly will be sworn-in at the April 2, 2018 Town Council meeting, which will be held at the Milton Library beginning at 6:30 p.m.
