The Town of Milton will receive sealed bids in the Office of the Town Manager, 115 Federal Street, Milton, DE 19968, until 2:00p.m. on June 14, 2023 at which time they will be read aloud for the following project:

Town of Milton – Street Resurfacing

(Hazzard Street and Tobin Drive)

Specifications are posted on the Town of Milton’s website: www.milton.delaware.gov or can be emailed by written request to krogers@ci.milton.de.us .

The Town of Milton may extend the time and place for the opening of bids from that described in this Invitation.  The Town of Milton reserves the right to waive irregularities, as well as to accept or reject any or all bids.

Project 2023-RTT

Town of Milton – Street Resurfacing

(Hazzard Street and Tobin Drive)

 

Proposal to include:

  1. Rotomill and remove existing asphalt surface to a depth of two inches (2”); and
  2. Clean milled surface to remove all loose debris; and
  3. Ensure proper grading and sloping for water drainage; and
  4. Adjust utilities; and
  5. Apply tack coat; and
  6. Install two inches (2”) Type “C” hot mix; and
  7. Seal joints and transitions; and
  8. Traffic control.

 

Item A: Hazzard Street –  This street is approximately 22ft. x 571ft.

Item B: Tobin Drive –  This street is approximately 28ft. x 640ft. and 36ft. x 105ft., respectively. Stripe thermoplastic crosswalks in two (2) locations per Delaware DOT specifications; one crosswalk at the intersection of Tobin Drive & Mulberry Street and one crosswalk at the intersection at Tobin Drive & Union Street.

Bidder is also responsible for adjusting any water valve boxes to grade elevation, locate utilities through Miss Utility prior to the start of work, coordinate and receive a Town business license and permit, coordinate inspections with the Town, and leave work areas clean and free of debris.

All Requests for Proposal must be submitted with using the designated Bid Form.  Work must be under contract by June 28, 2023.  A State of Delaware business license with a copy of a current certificate of liability and workers compensation insurance are required to be submitted with the Bid Form.

The Bidder agrees the Bid Form for this Request for Proposal shall be acceptable by the Town through June 28, 2023.  The Town of Milton may extend the time and place for the opening of bids from that described in the Invitation, with notice sent by fax or other electronic means to those Bidders who obtained copies of the Request for Proposal and attended the pre-bid meeting.  The Town of Milton reserves the right to waive irregularities, as well as to accept or reject any or all bids. An accepted bid shall be subject to the winning bidder accepting a contract with the Town containing the Town’s terms and conditions of performance.
