The Tilney Street water main replacement project will begin tomorrow, May 21, and is expected to take a few weeks. While crews are in the area, please try to avoid travel on Tilney Street to minimize impact to staff, equipment use, and access to driveways. Water service will remain active during the project until such time when the new water main is approved for connection to the Town's system. A CodeRed notice will be made at such time when water service will be affected. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the water system. On June 2, the town-wide meter replacement project will begin. See the "more info" for detailed information. More Info

Effective October 1st, Change in Residential Waste Services

Date Posted: Friday, September 22nd, 2017

as mailed on September 18, 2017:

Greetings!

Every three years, the Town of Milton advertises to receive Request for Quotations relating to residential waste collection services to assure our citizens are given the best services at the most reasonable cost.  As a result of the bid for services, the quarterly waste collection fee decreased from $57.00 to $54.00.  Effective October 1, 2017, Charlie’s Waste Services, LLC, dba Blue Hen Disposal, will be the Town of Milton’s residential waste, yard waste, bulk item, and recycle hauling contractor.

Town wide residential waste collection will occur weekly on Tuesday, followed by yard waste collection on alternating Wednesdays, and recycle collection every other Thursday.  Included in this mailing is a Collection Calendar to serve as your guide for each week’s collection.  Please follow the guidelines on the reverse side of the Collection Calendar for waste, yard waste, and recycle.  For the pickup of a bulk item (i.e. mattress, couch, grill etc.), contact Town Hall to schedule the collection.

As of October 1st, discard the Republic Services calendar.

In making all efforts for a smooth transition, after Republic Services empties your waste and recycle toters the week of September 25th, leave the toters alongside the curb or driveway so Republic Services can collect their toters.

Also occurring during the week of September 25th, Charlie’s Waste Services will be delivering new waste and recycle toters.  The blue toter with a blue lid is for waste; the blue toter with a yellow lid is for recycling.

If by the morning of Friday, September 29th, new toters have not been received, contact Town Hall for delivery.

Should you have any questions during this process, don’t hesitate to contact Town Hall at 302-684-4110.

Best regards,

Kristy L. Rogers
