Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and monitor the town’s water treatment and distribution systems.
- Conduct routine testing to ensure compliance with federal and state water quality regulations.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment and infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot system issues as needed.
Requirements:
- Current Delaware Drinking Water Operator License.
- Experience in water treatment operations, maintenance, and compliance reporting.
- Knowledge of EPA and state regulations related to public water systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and be on-call as needed.
- Valid Drivers License and transportation.

Public Notice: Town of Milton Water Meter Replacement Project
The Town of Milton, Delaware, is set to begin a town wide water meter replacement project starting Monday, June 2. This essential upgrade will enhance accuracy in water usage tracking and improve service efficiency for residents and businesses.
Our project will be carried out by VEPO, the town’s designated contractor, and will take place systematically across all properties equipped with municipal water meters. Residents may notice VEPO personnel working in their area as part of this initiative.
What to Expect:
- Temporary water service interruptions may occur for short periods (approximately 10 minutes) while meters are being replaced.
- VEPO staff will be identifiable by official credentials; VEPO vehicles will be marked with the use of the Milton logo.
- No action is required from property owners unless otherwise notified.
- A door hanger will be left behind if you are not present the day of your meter replacement.

The Town of Milton (the “Town”) invites interested firms to submit a sealed Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the following:
SERVICES FOR
WATER METER SYSTEM REPLACEMENT
Interested parties may submit Qualifications for an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Full-Service Implementation Program in order to improve the process of collecting water utility meter data to enhance the level of service offered to customers.
The AMI Full-Service Program will be implemented system-wide in a short time frame, in order to maximize the benefits of the system. Interested parties are to submit qualifications for a turnkey deployment of approximately 1,967 water meters as well as full-service data hosting and delivery to the Town.
