EFFECTIVE MARCH 18, 2020 TOWN OFFICES CLOSED TO PUBLIC ACCESS Based on the State of Emergency declarations and information available from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Division of Public Health, the Town of Milton is closing to public access beginning at 8:30am on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.  These measures are in place to decrease the spread of COVID-19 all while maintaining Town services. Residents are encouraged to follow all communications from Federal and State Agencies to slow the spread of COVID-19.  The Town will be taking any and all necessary steps to protect our employees and our community. Until further notice, payments can be made online through OfficialPayments.com (jurisdiction code 1809), mailed, or placed in the mail-slot in the back-door of Town Hall. Construction of Rails to Trails, Phase II (Federal Street to Lavinia Street)

The Notice to Proceed for the Rails to Trails, Phase II, project has been issued by DelDOT to ADEL Construction to allow work beginning Monday, February 3rd.  During this time, please avoid the trail area as it’s a construction zone and safety to all is of most importance.  Construction hours are the same as in Town code, which is Monday through Friday 7am to 5:30pm and Saturday 8am to 3pm; no work on Sunday or Federal holidays.  Construction will be performed in phases as follows, weather permitting: First – the timber bridge rehabilitation, which is estimated to be complete beginning of April. For immediate release: January 3, 2019   TOWN OF MILTON 2019 Annual Municipal Election   The 2019 Annual Municipal Election candidate filing deadline was Wednesday, January 2, at 5:00 p.m.  This year’s Election was open for Mayor and two Town Council seats.  One citizen declared candidacy for Mayor: Theodore Kanakos.  Two citizens declared their candidacy for Town Council: Michael Cote and James Garde.   In accordance with Town Charter Section 7(l), which reads “In the event that only one person files for an office for which an election is to be held within the time set forth in Section 6 of this Charter, the person who files shall be deemed to be elected for a full term and it shall not be necessary to have an election”, there will not be an Annual Election.   Incumbent Mayor Ted Kanakos, and incumbent Councilmen Michael Cote and James Garde are deemed elected. The survey will be available until Friday, October 19th.  Please take a couple seconds to complete the survey on your interest in natural gas.  This survey is not a binding commitment, but rather determining interest should natural gas be available.
